This is a required step, so make you install the Apple Command line tools via: $ sudo xcode-select -install These tools include packages such as make, GCC, clang, etc. Now that Xcode is installed and we have accepted the Apple developer license, we can install the Apple Command Line Tools. If you have already installed Xcode and previously accepted the Apple developer license, you can skip this step. Scroll to the bottom of the license and accept it.
